Skype, Ventrilo, Mumble, or Teamspeak?
Discuss.

Skype. It's free. It's easy to use. Seems to be not really glitchy or screwy, but I've never done a multiple person voice chat on there before, so I'm not sure how that part works. I've done 1:1 voice and multiple person chat-room style, and those have worked out fine in the past.
Vent or TS both require a server to either be purchased or rented, or we'd have to mooch off of someone else's server which wouldn't guarantee our ability to access when we want to play.
I've never heard of Mumble, so someone else with have to discuss that one.

I would agree with Skype, though I have never used it before. I have used both Ventrilo and TS for playing Guildwars, but someone else handled the server for those. I believe it is possible to do multiple person calls on Skype, free if everyone is using Skype. Is this what you are referring to, Zach? www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/conference-calls/

I was pretty sure there was a feature for it, I had just never used it before. But yes, that looks like it. Good to have confirmation! The one downside I see to skype is I'm not sure if there is a way to setup a PTT on it. All I've ever used it for was just an open line constant mic feed. Any thoughts or experience with Push To Talk on skype?

First of all, to answer Gersh's question: Skype.
Second, to Zach: As far as I know, there is no PTT option available, but there IS a very easily accessible mute button that allows you to mute your mic at-will.

Ah true. I forgot about that. I suppose that will work out if someone needs to cough or sneeze. Or at least a verbal warning to save the ears of others!

Do we have a rough or somewhat less rough start date?

Ok, the consensus appears to be Skype, so we'll do a group voicechat on that. Regarding start date: I'm aiming for two weeks from last Tuesday (August 14), but that's highly dependent on how much time I have to flesh out the other parts of the world that are needed, not to mention the first dungeon is only 25% done. So, in what may become the theme of this entire game... you're waiting on me. Sorry

No worries. For me - I'd rather have a great dungeon a week late than a mediocre dungeon on time.
