To assist all of you prospective players with background development, as well as help give you an idea of why your characters are going to the Halloween festival, assume all of your characters received the following information as a pamphlet in the mail:
"Come one, come all! Hosted on the Memorial Mall at Purdue University is the First Annual Halloween Festival! Celebrate the Fall Season with Fun and Games for all ages! Games of chance and skill will be provided by local organizations!* What would Halloween be with out the traditional trick or treat? A costume contest will be held at the end of the Festival with many prizes, and there will be Food vendors from all over town, from the local farmers to people from restaurants in town! Also, for those of you with collegiate bound interests, representatives from the majors at Purdue and student organizations will have booths throughout the fair with many activities for you to enjoy! Tickets will be sold at the entrances for $5 per person and children are free! If you have any questions or wish to know more about the event, call 765-891-0112 (OOC**: don't actually call this number ^_^) or email at thisisobviouslyafakeemail@purdue.edu.
*A small fee may be associated with these games"
**OOC stands for "Out of Character," a comment made from a viewpoint not in the RP setting
-The pamphlet then proceeds to have a list of participating organizations on the back:
+Food Vendors:
Subway, Panda Express, Five Guy's, XXX, Silver Dipper, and local farmer's stands.
+Departments:
Consumer and Family Sciences, Education, Engineering (Aero, Civil, ME, EE, CHME, BME), Agriculture, Liberal Arts, Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, Vetrinary Medicine, Technology and Krannert School of Management
+Student Organizations:
Tae Kwon Do Club, Computer Club, Ballroom Dancing Team, Forestry Club, PSUB, Debate Team, NRA, Astrology Club, SCA, Panhellenic Council, Dungeons of Purdue, Tau Beta Sigma/Kappa Kappa Psi (OOC: Yes, I went there ), SWE, ROTC, Fencing Team, and the Women's/Men's Basketball teams. (There is a note in this section of the pamphlet, saying this list is subject to change)
There is a map included in the pamphlet (which I will not actually give here), but it provides your character with a basic knowledge of where each organization/booth/activity is at the Festival. You may ask me further questions about the festival, but they must be asked from the viewpoint of your character and in the format of a phone-call or an email (as per the pamphlet) to me.
