Hey all,
Here's a brief synopsis of my ideas so far for this:
"-Rules will be 4th edition, and I use the term "rules" loosely. I will be testing the boundaries of the 4e ruleset. If you are a rules-lawyer, you may want to pass by this to preserve your mental sanity. The campaign may change your perspective on how the game is played.
-Leveling will be based upon achievements/waypoints rather than XP. This may mean a really productive party may level more than 1 level in a session (or the opposite as well)
-I will be attempting to make the campaign more RP-centric, with combat accentuating/complementing the RP.
-The campaign setting will start off in a mundane setting (non-magickal, modern) and quickly shift into a high-magick world (the beginning setting does not necessarily define class).
-Starting characters would be "normal" people thrust into extremely unusual circumstances. Starting stats/skills would be based on how you can rp/reason them (i.e. your character was in the gymnastics team and would thus have a DEX of 16+ and have acrobatics as a bonus skill). This is one of things I'm really interested in for this campaign, so details for this aspect are still being ironed out.
-There will be no restrictions on items/powers/skills once the campaign moves into the magick setting, if you can provide rp/reasons why your character wants/crafts/has something."
I was looking for a party of 4-6 people, and it has been found!! Here are the names:
Jeremy
Rachael
Jenling
Gersh
Ben K.
Mr. Plake
Please refer to other posts on the thread for character creation and background info. Let me know if there are any questions, comments, or needs for clarification.
More details will follow, as soon as my creative muse throws me a carrot or something... ^_^
