I think there are enough members of each on-going game absent during spring break that we can't get any of them really running, but how about we do a One-shot or two over Spring Break for those who are still going to be in town?
I know I have a few character concepts I'd love a chance to try out, and we can have multiple DMs or if anyone wants to give DMing a shot, that's always a good thing to do.
I personally prefer the more Epic One-shots, but if we have an inexperienced DM then a much lower level game would be a better bet. Let me know what you guys think.

I would like to gain some experience DMing for people who already know how to play. This would also be a good chance to playtest some of the things I would like to implement in the campaign setting I am creating. I think I can handle high-heroic to low-paragon (and that saves me the trouble of de-leveling the enemies a whole lot).

Angela, if you want, you can use the Dungeon Delve book that I have. Absolutely BRILLIANT for one-shots.

I'd like to take a look for some floorplan inspiration, though I already know what the adventure will be, as well as some of the puzzles, treasure and enemies.
Anyways, so everyone can start creating/selecting characters, the setting is core, but as the result of some events in history playing out very differently. The short version: during the war between the Tiefling empire of Bael Turath and the Dragonborn empire of Arkhosia, the Tieflings called for reinforcements from the Githyanki and dragons loyal to Tiamat. So instead of the two destroying each other, the tieflings started winning. Pelor changed the humans on the Arkhosia side into aasimar (devas) and many Githzerai came to battle their evil kin, but it was too little, too late. It also didn't help that upon seeing the chaos, the drow decided to give Lolth the finger, march their armies straight through the dwarven tunnels (slaughtering pretty much all of them), and go show their surface cousins a thing or two. As the elves were just waiting for the war to blow over, they were completely blindsided.
So, the tieflings have a large empire, the dragonborn are divided between Tiamat's followers (who live in the empire) and Bahamut's (who retreated to a remote area the empire did not feel was worth the effort to conquer), all humans have either become tieflings or aasimar, the drow took over the elven lands (after hunting down every last elf), kobolds have moved into the ruins of the dwarven tunnels (though they still run the mines), a significant population of githzerai and the entire population of githyanki now live in the world, and the eladrin and gnomes fled to the feywild leaving behind a fair number of warforged created to assist them.
The following races are not PC options (due to being extinct/ not in the world) dwarf, human, halfling, half-elf, elf, eladrin, gnome, half-orc, orc, shadar-kai, kalashtar, revenant, duergar, bladeling, bullywug, kenku
If using one of the following PC races, make the listed modifications Tiefling- know supernal instead of choosing a second language, otherwise as written Gnolls- as written, may substitute the +2 intimidate bonus for a +2 nature bonus Genasi- as written, may only choose earthsoul, firesoul, windsoul, stormsoul, and watersoul manifestations Bugbear- remove oversized, add all half-orc racial features except furious assault Goblin- add the Halfling racial feature Nimble Reaction Hobgoblin- add the orc racial feature Running Charge Kobold- gain proficiency with all simple and military picks, when you reduce an enemy to zero hitpoints, you may roll on the Kobold Victory Table (PC version)
All classes, feats, powers, etc. in the builder are permitted
Don't do itemization yet, it will have special rules that I need to work out because I want lower magic without throwing out all magic (this is what I need to playtest).
Consequently, the rituals Enchant Magic Item, Disenchant Magic Item, and Transfer Enchantment do not extist.
If anyone has questions, comments, helpful DMing suggestions let me know.

Sounds good. I'm actually trying to get together with Gersh to build a Minotaur Warlord who I think would be interesting.
Angela - let me know once you get a Title or name for the game and we'll toss a board up for you so everything is organized.

Tenative name for the campaign is Web of Shadows, though I don't have a name for the setting yet.
Also forgot to mention, any alignment is permitted as long as the character is not disruptive to the party.
I will be using the errata that came out today, it fixed a lot of problems and finally clarified that silly weapons as implements confusion.

Just to reiterate my interest. If that's okay, I'm gonna play a Warlock of some kind, I think.

There's got to be some character concept around here that I haven't tried... Defender? Leader? Striker? What should I play...?

I'm going to try a striker or a controller. Because Leader is already covered, I think.

I might be interested in joining you with a deva avenger I've been working up, but only if the party is melee heavy.

I guess we don't have a defender, and I like those... Is PH3 going to be out by the time we do this? Would like to try out the Battlemind. Maybe a re-tool of my Warden? Maybe try *gasp* a fighter?

PHB3 will not be out by Spring Break. I think it's the week after that it comes out.
